"A continuous study of ephemeral botanicals preserved through light, chemistry, and gold."
The Narrative of Light & Emulsion
Rosy is a printmaker and mixed-media fine artist based in Dallas, TX. She specializes in cyanotypes—an antiquarian photographic printing process developed in 1842 that uses iron salts and natural solar ultraviolet rays to yield deep, organic Prussian blue silhouettes.
Her work represents an ongoing conversation between poetry, chemistry, and light. Inspired by the quiet rhythms of nature, she focuses on capturing temporary natural specimens on heavyweight French cotton rag.
Every print is exposed individually under natural solar rays and hand-finished with authentic metallic gold leafing overlay lines. Because her processes are entirely manual, each composition retains the raw, organic imperfections of hand-applied emulsions and torn deckled edges.
